Because the skin is the largest organ in the human body it comes as no surprise that the list of dermatologic diseases is long and daunting. Our pathologists have extensive experience in diagnosing dermatologic conditions. Given this expertise and our laboratory’s rapid turnaround time, the vast majority of skin cases can be diagnosed rapidly and an effective treatment plan can be crafted. However, some dermatopathology cases require extra care and attention. For difficult cases, our laboratory is proud to provide world class dermatopathology services through our consultative relationship with Dr. Paul Googe and the University of North Carolina. Dr. Googe is an internationally recognized dermatopathologist and has authored numerous publication in the field of dermatopathology.
