We are proud to be the first laboratory in the Upper Cumberland Region to offer highly sensitive PCR testing for COVID-19. Our lab utilizes testing kits from Quidel and Thermo Fisher, two of the largest molecular diagnostic companies in the U.S. This partnership has afforded our lab the ability to perform a large volume of tests in a short time. The result is unparalleled turnaround time, with results in less than 24 hours and in many cases even sooner.

The Quidel Lyra test uses high throughput RT-PCR technology to detect the SARS CoV-2 virus, the virus that causes COVID-19. The Lyra assay has received Emergency Use Authorization from FDA for the detection of SARS-CoV-2. Our laboratory has successfully validated modifications to the EUA procedure including specimen collection media and RNA extraction using the ThermoFisher MagMax Viral Pathogen II extraction kit and the KingFisher Flex 96 automated extraction platform.
